Title: Origin Backups... Post by: BoHiCa on 24/10/2011, 03:11 PM I will be purchasing this (http://www.ocztechnology.com/images/RevoDriveHybrid_main.jpg)hopefully within a week (tax cheque clears), So I have been doin some research.
Spec Sheet http://www.ocztechnology.com/res/manuals/OCZ_Revo_Hybrid_Performance_Compare.pdf (http://www.ocztechnology.com/res/manuals/OCZ_Revo_Hybrid_Performance_Compare.pdf) http://forum.ea.com/eaforum/posts/list/6528996.page In regards to making a backup copy of your games here's a workaround for moving your downloaded/installed game to another computer: 1. Allow Origin to fully download and install your game. 2. Copy the entire game directory (Example Battlefield Bad Company™ 2 Digital Deluxe Edition is 8.33 GB). Now you have basically three options. A: Transfer these files to the other computer over your home network. B: Transfer to a USB key that has enough space then transfer to the other computer. C: Burn files onto a dual layer DVD (This option requires a special drive and space is limited so you may need to span the files across two discs). 3. Once the files are on the other computer in the directory where you normally install your games, navigate to the directory called ""__Installer\DISK1"". 4. Find the EASetup.exe file and run it. Running this file will create the proper registry keys you need for the game to be detected and launch properly from Origin. Let us know if this information was helpful. The Origin Live Support Team Has anyone else used this method or know of a better way Title: Re: Origin Backups... damm you :P from my experience with the bf3 beta if you put the folder for the game in the directory specified in origin then you should be able to install form origin but i have not tried with any other game other than the bf3 beta Title: Re: Origin Backups... Post by: bageled on 01/11/2011, 07:56 PM doesn't work.

These guys seem to be onto something, but when I rename the original installation file, it wants to download, not install. Title: Re: Origin Backups... Post by: Sillen on 01/11/2011, 08:11 PM No instructions here on backing up my dvd copy of BF3!!?!
Title: Re: Origin Backups... Post by: bageled on 01/11/2011, 08:50 PM So I think I've got it working.
I copied my entire Ea Origin folder to a new hard drive, but i renamed my game folders by adding a "2" to the end of the folder name. Uninstalled Origin Reinstalled Origin Went into Origin settings and changed the download target folder to the new location. Closed down Origin Renamed game folders to default name, ie removed the "2" Opened Origin Clicked install BF3 Title: Re: Origin Backups... Post by: Dex on 02/11/2011, 01:42 PM Bageled is right.
This is what I did for battlefield 3.. 1. Copy the folder named "Battlefield 3" to an external hard drive 2. Install origin 3. Close origin 4. Paste the folder "battlefield 3" in the games directory for origin (Default c:\program files\Origin Games) 5. Restart origin and click install. Title: Re: Origin Backups...
