Can anyone suggest a program to monitor all the ingoing and outgoing internet traffic for my network?

I have something like 10 internet devices connected to my network and I want to see which computer is downloading throughout the day.

I am really stumped as to how we managed to download 1.8gb today (its only 3pm) when i havent touched my computer all day. (I am usually the one to gobble up our monthly quota)

Any suggestions would be wonderful.

Squid, run a transparent proxy then use a squid reporter.

Personally i prefer smoothwall, gives you real time tracking of ip's and current bandwidth usage.
Also you can save bandwidth/usage by using a proxy.

CordlezToaster's suggestions will give you excellent results if you're interested in your PC's traffic only, but from your post I was thinking you wanted a breakdown of traffic from all networked devices?  If so:

You might have some issues finding a software to do this if all of your devices are running via a central router or similar... since all traffic in a router/client setup is between the client machines and the router directly, so unless you could find a way to monitor the WAN traffic of your router itself you're unlikely to get accurate information from any software running on the network side of your router.  Some higher end routers do include the ability to gather this information, so you might want to check your router's manual to see if it supports that function.

Another possible short-term solution is to build a PC to sit between your network and the router to monitor the traffic, running say a Linux variant setup as a proxy server, but it's probably a bit too much effort to gather a bit of data like this plus the reconfiguring of all network devices.

I might just monitor my network traffic so when im told off for getting us capped, I can say it wasnt me.

Now I have another question; I see there is options to view "All", "Online", "Offline". Is it right to assume that the offline traffic is LAN based?

I am only asking, because I run a media server from my computer, and Im noticing when there is media being streamed from my computer to the client downstairs, it is uploading at 100kb/s. Ordinarily, i'd assume that it was only the local bandwidth being used, but it is showing the readings in the "online" part of NetLimiter...

Turn off window update on all pcs in your house and update them manually may also help.
