This has made my day.

I love the kitchen, and my wife and I have tried for that. We have a black top kitchen bench and a glass stove top, again black to try and make it all look seemless (knobs are however knobs)

I seriouslys enjoyed this, and I wish our world was like that, nice clean and crisp. But if you look at our current world, especially the glass along the highway between GC and BNE - its all smashed from vandals and thugs, thus I do not foresee this future takign hold to well unless all rocks and retards are destroyed :P

My oldies recently renovated their kitchen and got a glass stove top with touch controls, no knobs at all. Just one flat surface. You gotta hold on the touch controls for a few seconds so you don't accidentally bump it and turn the stove on.

I think that glass shit on the side of the highway is fucking asinine.
They have it down at St Helena at Byron as well, and its invariably smashed when you drive past. Apparently it costs like $15000 for one of those panels. That's all taxpayers money simply pissed down the drain, they've replaced them several times and every time they just put more glass in only to get broken again. They should just stick concrete or something there and be done with it instead of pissing away public funds.

Looks very cool, but the Al Foil hat conspiracy nut inside me thinks we are too dependent on computers. Imagine the chaos if they go offline or worse, they become self aware an realize humans are obsolete...

you mean in an age where you can hold hundreds of movies and music on the same device that allows you to talk to people with video and audio and where you can put even more games, movies and music that operates by touch and can fit in your pocket you want MORE?!?!?

besides, it wouldn't feel nice when your jetpack is on and you'd probably crash it while texting.

Surely it'd be cheaper for them to just put in some polycarbonate? I can't see it costing more than $15k a panel, or even better, a thick sheet in the middle with thin sheets on the outside so they don't have to replace the whole panel when it gets too scratched up to see through.

I reckon the bureaucrat responsible for it is related to the bloke who sells the govt the glass panels.
