I got into an argument recently with someone at my school who said that Harry Potter was better than Star Wars. What drugs are people smoking these days?
How can Star wars possibly be worst than Harry Potter in ANY aspect? Then again, she is the smartest girl in the grade.

Well if its the same as my school days, mainly tobacco and pot

Harry Potter is basically a dumbed down version of star wars for kids, with poofy magical wizards instead of cool aliens, lazers and space ships.

hate to tell you this, but they are both equally craptastic. Star wars is the most over rated movie of all time. If someone said " which is a better movie, Star Wars or Big Momma's house?" martin lawrence would be a winner....

Honestly, the movie is about some guy who lives with his "uncle" on what looks like a meth lab. He then meets some droids, and some old dude in the sand, and then his uncle is killed... very suss to me.  he then also joins up with the first guy he meets in a bar, and his friend who wears a belt but no pants. All of them jump into his space ship of debauchery, come accross lukes sister, and try to hit on her...and thats the story of star wars.  Basically Lukes only special power from the "force" is the inability to know that the chick he is trying so hard to "tap" is his sister. Worse, Obi Wan knows this (we find out later), but doesnt say anything.... that millenium falcon is one messed up swingers club in space...

i would say he is the most suss of all... and here is the ultimate kicker, that after watching all 6 of the films you find out: You find out that lukes father built the only gay robot in the entire universe (can we call him a sexbot?), and was best mates with OPi-wan, the pedo of the desert... who while luke was growing up, lurked nearby molesting sand people... no wonder they attacked, they probably thought thye were rescuing luke from the tear stained inflattable matress of Obi Wans cave....

surprisingly there are many things about star wars that aren't beleivable, mainly how Han Solo could evade a squad of troopers who are meant to enforce whatever the empire tells them to, these guys should be alright marksman, instead they all fire around him. They might be clones but they'd have to be of Stevie Wonder.

I loved Star Wars though.

There is little point breaking down stories to their skeleton/plot and saying one story is a rip off of another. When you break the narrative down that far you'll find that there are simply not many different plots out there, it is always the same plot told over and over again. The difference should be in the fleshy parts/story and how it is told. Fair enough there are plot similarities between Harry Potter and Star Wars, but the story is massivley different. A true rip off is Sword of Truth ripping off Wheel of Time.

Star Wars has given us 3 great movies, and half a dozen ok movies(Caravan of Courage FTW), one great tv series(The Clone Wars), a slew of great comics, a couple of great games(KOTR), and bunch of ok games, awsome action figures, and it led to Indiana Jones.
Harry Potter is 7 good films, 7 good kids books, and hand full of shit games and....Daniel Radcilff....

Actually Karnage, most stormtroopers aren't clones. Some are (like the 501st), but the majority are just recruits (and possibly even conscripts).

Anyway, Solo went to the Imperial Academy, most stormtroopers probably don't have a great deal of training. I think the Empire enforced very little law with quality of troops - more likely with their fleet and those such as Vader. Fear is their means.

Shouldn't laser guns be crazy accurate because theres no recoil and no bullet ballistics?

If you want to talk about the accuracy of enemy gunmen in movies, you really need to take a look outside of Star Wars.

I think poor aim is an epidemic in Hollywood.
