Muzzle velocity of a .50cal (ON AVERAGE PPL..I know they vary) is around 3000 fps or 914.4 meters a second. He is standing at around 150-200 meters away so between the round leaving the barrel and the melon exploding would be around .2 of a second.its longer than that.
